Licensing

Open Source Edition

NetXMS is free and open source software. Most components are licensed under the GNU General Public License version 2 or (at your option) any later version; most libraries are licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License version 3 or later. The COPYING file in the source distribution lists the license of each component. You may freely use, modify, and distribute NetXMS under the terms of this license.

These licenses permit commercial and production use without any fees or license-imposed node limits. If you distribute a modified version of NetXMS, the modifications must be released under the license of the modified component. Using NetXMS to monitor your own infrastructure does not constitute distribution; no license obligations are triggered by internal use.

Third-Party Components

NetXMS bundles several third-party libraries, each under its own open source license (MIT, BSD, Apache 2.0, and similar). A complete list of bundled components and their licenses is included in the source distribution.

Enterprise Edition
