NetworkPathElement

Represents single hop of a NetworkPath.

Conversion to string produces a human readable description of the hop, for example ROUTE core-router [1234] =⇒ 10.0.1.2 (ifIndex=5).

Instance attributes

ifIndex: int

For ROUTE and L2_LINK hops: index of the outgoing interface on the hop node. For PROXY and VPN hops: ID of the proxy node or VPN connector object. 0 if not applicable.

interface ⇒ Interface

Outgoing Interface object on the hop node for ROUTE and L2_LINK hops, null for other hop types or if interface cannot be found.

name: String

Name of the hop’s outgoing link: interface name for ROUTE and L2_LINK hops (interface index if the interface is not known), proxy node name for PROXY hops, VPN connector name for VPN hops, empty string for DESTINATION.

nextHop: String

IP address of the next hop for ROUTE hops, or null if not applicable.

node ⇒ NetObj

Object representing the hop (usually a Node), or null.

nodeId: int

ID of the hop object, or 0.

route: String

Destination network address of the routing table entry used by this hop for ROUTE hops, or null for directly connected networks and VPN connectors.

type: String

Hop type:

  • ROUTE - layer 3 hop determined from routing table

  • VPN - VPN connector

  • PROXY - zone proxy node

  • DESTINATION - destination node

  • L2_LINK - layer 2 link determined from topology information
